We just received our first day of rain since I planted my food plots about a month ago. My food plots are doing great and will do even better now that they have some rain on them. There has been a lot of food plots that have been hit by armyworms lately but my food plots have lucked out so far.
HAS ANYBODY HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH ARMYWORMS OR ANY KIND OF FOOD PLOT PROBLEMES THIS SEASON?

How's your season going?
Hunting has been rough for us so far this year. We've seen deer, no big bucks, but haven't been able to close the deal. Bucks are starting to respond to a light rattling of the antlers. I have watched one small buck make a scrap and I have found a couple of others in the last few days. I hope to soon have a video of a deer harvest. Good luck everyone.
P.S. If you have harvested a deer this year and would like to show it off, please send me an email at thehuntingrounds@gmail.com.
You can view it at "The Huntin Grounds" on Facebook. Join if you haven't joined!

Bow Season Is Open!
Well, it's time to get out there and hunt. It seemed like it took forever to get here and now it will fly by, so be sure to get out hunting as much as you can. As I drove to work today I saw tons of vehicles in the ditches, cattle fields, and pretty much any where else that people could hunt. The thing is maybe some one should of been hunting by the road. In rush hour traffic today there was a mature doe that had been hit this morning and a man drug the doe out of traffic. Yesterday Dad and I sat in the shooting house about 200 yards away from where we will hunt this evening and we had two shooter eight points and four does walk within about 10 yards of where we will be setting tonight. Hopefully we get it done tonight and everyone can watch it on video. Good luck this season!

Deer Season for Bow Opens this Friday!
Well, the time has finally arrived; it's deer season. The conditions couldn't be any better for harvesting a nice whitetail deer. The acorns are dropping and a cool front is moving in over Friday night and that will help deer movement Friday evening and Saturday morning so be sure to be out there during those times. Deer will be moving even if it is a little windy because fronts push them to feed to prepare for the change in weather. I hope every one's season is great! Enjoy the time you spend outside in God's creation. We are blessed to even have the freedom to hunt. Good Luck!

Opening Weekend of Deer Season and My New HD Camcorder
Well, deer season is on it's way and it is a busy but fun time to be out in the woods. Trying to capture it all on video makes the challenge even greater. I recently purchased a new HD video camera and it works beautifully. I made a short video of opening weekend of deer season to show everyone the quality of the video. We will be taping all of our hunts so be looking forward to our HD deer hunts. Thanks for your support!
